Quarterly Expectations

1st Quarter Expectations for 1st Graders 

Your 1st grader will be assessed over their demonstrated skills in the areas of Communication Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Personal Development.

 

The grades used in 1st grade are:  I = Independent. The student can successfully demonstrate the skill without assistance from the teacher.  P = Progressing. The student can at times demonstrate the skill and at times needs assistance from the teacher.  N = Needs Improvement. The student has difficulty with the skill and is unsuccessful at demonstrating the skill and needs to focus on improving this area with extra assistance outside of school.

 

Communication Arts - Below are the specific skills your child will be assessed in Communication Arts.

 

Math - Below are the specific skills your child will be assessed in for Math.

 

 

Science - Demonstrates understanding of information and concepts.

 

Social Studies - Demonstrates understanding of information and concepts.

 

Personal Development - This area focuses on how your child interacts in the 1st grade classroom. The grades are a + consistently demonstrates the skill successfully, = at times can demonstrate the skill and there is room to become consistent, and - the student does not demonstrate the skill and needs to work on improving the skill.
